Starslide
Starslide is a browser-based recreation of the original puzzle game I first built years ago for the BlackBerry PlayBook.
Slide stars, bombs, sand, diamonds, and other objects across handcrafted grid-based levels, each built around careful planning, timing, and clever interactions between the different tile types and mechanics.
This new version recreates the original Starslide experience with the same visual style, gameplay, and level layouts, rebuilt for modern browsers using HTML5.
Features
- The original Starslide campaign rebuilt for the web
- Handcrafted puzzle levels with steadily increasing complexity
- Classic mechanics including portals, bombs, lasers, pipes, water, sand, and diamonds
- Mouse, touch, and keyboard support
- Instant browser play with no install required
Controls
- Mouse / Touch: Click or drag to move pieces
- Keyboard: Click a movable object to select it, then use the arrow keys to move it
- Mouse Wheel: Scroll through the level list
About The Game
Starslide is a retro puzzle game about experimenting, planning ahead, and finding elegant solutions one move at a time. I originally built this late 2011(ish) for the Blackberry Playbook. It did ok, for that tablet. Of course, we all know what eventually happened to the Playbook. So the game kind of died with it. Here's the original Crackberry review from Jan 2012: Fallen stars & magic portals keep you guessing in StarSlide for the BlackBerry PlayBook | CrackBerry
If you enjoy thoughtful logic puzzles with a classic feel, Starslide is for you.
